Youth Sports

AMINGA was founded by the Gomes siblings: Zina, Elisabete, Betinho, and his wife, Sofia. They wanted to design a sports and education program that will help give youth in the Global South the same level of access to quality holistic sports training and education found worldwide.

Through AMINGA's sports camp environment, participants will acquire targeted skills training in the sport of their choice (Basketball, Handball, or Volleyball) from a network of experienced international coaches.

Additionally, the education program further invests in our youths' future employability by providing English and Computer/ Data Science classes led by industry professionals.

São Vicente Pilot Project

The project started on Cape Verde independence Day and our goals were:

  1. Empower young people with knowledge on how lead healthy productive lives and develop their skills for the future.

  2. Support local infrastructures for continued use after the project.

  3. Create sustainability through knowledge exchange between industry professionals from around the world.

  4. Foster a sense of community within the youth through volunteer services.

Our approach

We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.

The Team

AMINGA was founded by a group of dedicated professionals who are passionate about sports and wellness in the Global South.

They have joined their efforts in the support of a greater cause. The team, led mostly by women, has a wide range of professions and ethnicities represented.

It is truly global, drawing from the experience of its members' ties to Cape Verde, Haiti, USA, Brazil, Portugal and the UK.
